MELBOURNE May 13
UP).—A Japanese invasion
fleet is reassembling at island
bases northeast of Australia,
awaiting heavy naval reinforcements
for a n e w offensive
thrust, dispatches from allied advanced;
bases indicated today.

MOSCOW, May. 13 (/P).—
The battle for Kerch, gateway
to the oil-rich Caucasus, -was
developing steadily today, but
the Russians gave no hint of
any major nazi success in this
strongest attack the Germans thus
far have made this spring.
