THIS WAS REPORTED TODAY SEPTEMBER 12, 1943:
 Italy has agreed to surrender immediately French Corsici, transfer'- its naval and air units to Allied territory, hand over all Unijted Nations' prisoners, and allow its merchantmen to be used m the war against Germany tinder the terms of the armistice, disclosed here Saturday night.

Italy Signs French Corsica Over to United Nations
Allies to Receive
Naval, Air Units
And Merchant Fleet

ALLIED HEADQUARTERS IN NORTH AFRICA,
Italy has agreed to surrender immediately French Corsici, transfer'- its naval and air units to Allied territory, hand over all Unijted Nations' prisoners, and allow its merchantmen to be used m the war against Germany tinder the terms of the armistice, disclosed here Saturday night.
The armisice, signed by representatives of Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower and Marshal Pietro Badoglio on Sept. 3 and announced' Sept. 8, piovides.
1. Immediate cessation of all hostile activity by Italian1 armed forces.
2. Italy will use its best endeavors to deny to the Germans facilitie that might be used against the United Nations.
3. All prisoners or internees of the United Nations to immediately-; be turned over to the Allied commander-in-chief' and none ot these may now or at any time be evacuated to Germany.
4. Immediate transfer of the Italian fleet and Italia?, aircraft to such points as may be designated by the Allied commander- in chief, with details of disarmanent to be prescribed by him.

.5. Italian merchant shipping may be requisitioned by the Allied conimander-in-chief to meet
the need of a military-naval prog:ram.
6. Immediate surrender of Corsica and al! Italian territory, both islands and the mainland, to the
Allies, for such use as operational bases_and other purposes as the Allies may see fit.
