The roar of exploding bombs and
the crash of falling buildings .ushered in the 17th straight day of the German
robot offensive on southern England this morning.
Adding to the toll of lives and
property already lost In the Nazis' campaign of vengeance.
Spreading death and destruction across
the blacked-out countryside in blind reprisal for the Allied bombing: of
Germany, the enemy's flying; torpedoes landed at a number of points during the
night.

The American formation was composed
of less than 250 Liberators, and escorting fighters shot down eight Nazi
fighters, sprayed 29 barges, three locomotives, nine railway cars, three
antiaircraft cars and five trucks with machine- gun bullets.
