have hurled 90 Red divisions
— a p p r o x i m a t e l y 1,750,000
men—into a mighty push
against the Germans on a
250-mile front in tile Ukraine
which if successful would
blast plans for the heralded
Nazi "spring offensive" beyond

__RIO DE JANEIRO, March12.—(U,R)—Furious throngs of
Brazilians assaulted big German
department stores and
other Axis enterprises on
Rio's main avenues Thursday
In hours of rioting after this
largest Latin American republic
had advanced to the
edge of war by seizing many
assets of German, Japanese
and Italian subjects.
