.NAPLES, March 8 (AP)—
Gunfire, mortar and grenade duels raced for the second straight night in the shell torn Cassino on tile main fifth army front, headquarter! Announced today, and observers have spotted movement! Behind the German lines below Rome, possibly indicating a re grouping for a fourth all-out push against the Allied beachhead.

 MOSCOW, March 8 —
Marshal Gregory K. Zhukov's First Ukrainian army fought today against some of the worst ground conditions of the Russian-German conflict and what a Red Star frontline reporter called the ."growing resistance of the enemy."

 LONDON, March 8 (AP)—
Strong forces of U. S. heavy bombers attacked Berlin today for the third American attack in n week agains tthe German capital.

NAPLES, March 8 (AP)—
Gunfire, mortar and grenade duels raced for the second straight night in the shell torn Cassino on tile main fifth army front, headquarter! Announced today, and observers have spotted movement! Behind the German lines below Rome, possibly indicating a re grouping for a fourth all-out push against the Allied beachhead.
New Zealand siege guns hamered at a German-held rail statiton about a mile south of Cassino while American troops west of Cisterna on the beachhead engaged in a fierce machlnegun and mortar duel with  the Natzi, but there was no change impositions.
The Germans made a concerted but futile effort to Infiltrate British position near Carroceto, on the Rome aide of the beachhead.

MOSCOW, March 8 *—
Marshal Gregory K. Zhukov's First Ukrainian army fought today against some of the worst ground conditions of the Russian-German conflict and what a Red Star frontline reporter called the ."growing resistance of the enemy."
But still the Red Army rolled on, seizing a firm hold on the Odessa-Warsaw railway and moving
to within 70 miles of the Important industrial and rail city of Lwow.
"The landscape is becoming exceedingly more complicated," reported Capt. Andrei Belalev, the
Red Star correspondent. He said there were many small lakes, which have overflowed large areas
of the countryside, as well as numerous streams and small forests

LONDON, March 8 (AP)—
Strong forces of U. S. heavy bombers attacked Berlin today for the third American attack in n week agains tthe German capital. The Liberator and Fortress formations bombarded Berlin with
more than 35,000 incendiary bombs and 10,000 explosive bombs. It was the American heavy
bombers' eight big assault in ten days and came after only one day's interval since the last heavy attack on the German capital,
A United States air force announcement said: "Strong forces of B-17 Flying Fortresses and B-24 Liberators of the eighth air force, escorted by large formations of AAF and RAF fighters, attacked industrial targets in the Berlin district today.
