Falls in Determined Assault

London AP—Russian  shock troops scaled thirty-foot high

walls of the moated stronghold of Osieviec  Bear the Biebrta Rivea in

morern Poland yesterday, bayonetted the German garrison and then rushed up pontoon bridges for an imminent crossing on the barrier, last water barrier before German East Prussia, only 15 miles beyond.

London UP—Relentless armadas of close to - 3,000 --American and British

heavy bombers smashed Germany’s home and fighting fronts yesterday to answer to General Eisenhower's call to deny with all aerial might Germany’s ability either to fight on or flee.

Two explosive-packed air fleets totaling nearly 1.500 American; Flying . Fortresses and Liberators lashed at already battered industrial targets in southern Germany.
