WASHINGTON, May 16.—(AP) —

The United States signified today That it is anxious to get started on sorting out the Axis culprits who will be tried for European war crimes before an international

court.

It has named Its top prosecutors and the White House expressed hope  that. Great Britain. Russia and france will appoint theirs as soon as possible.

LONDON. May 16.—(AP)—Amid rising criticism of the "I'odcllini?" of German prisoners of war and demands for a speedy trial for top-flight Nazi war criminals the United Nations War Crimes Commission announced today that an international conference on German war crimes would begin in London May 31.

The commission also announced that it had arranged for "certain governments" to send investigating officers into Germany to help military authorities gather evidence of war crimes there.
